# Postpone for AI Agents

Let your AI agent run the social calendar

Postpone ships a hosted MCP server. Point Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or an agent of your own at it and it can schedule posts, read what is queued, and report on what published — in plain language.

**ChatGPT**

Post the launch announcement to Reddit, X, and LinkedIn tomorrow morning

**Checked with Postpone**

Written and scheduled for tomorrow at 9:00 AM in your timezone:

- r/SaaS, the long version with a title
- X, a three post thread
- LinkedIn, the short version with the demo video

None of them has published yet. Say the word if you would rather have them as drafts to read through first.

- ## One URL, Any MCP Client

  A single hosted endpoint at api.postpone.app/mcp. Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Cursor, VS Code, Perplexity, Grok, Mistral Vibe, Microsoft Copilot, OpenClaw, Zapier, n8n, and Raycast all connect to it — as does anything else that speaks the protocol.
- ## OAuth or a Bearer Token

  Interactive clients sign in with OAuth 2.1 and grant scopes one at a time. Headless ones send a personal API key in a header. Session cookies are deliberately never honoured.
- ## Nothing Posts Behind Your Back

  Reading your accounts, your calendar, and your library is separate from writing to them, and anything that creates or deletes a post shows you the exact content and asks first.

Terminal

```bash
# Add Postpone, then sign in with OAuth
claude mcp add --transport http \
  postpone https://api.postpone.app/mcp
# Check that the Postpone tools came through
claude mcp list
```

## **MCP for Social Media**

### Connected in About a Minute

There is one endpoint and no server to run. Hosted clients add it as a remote MCP server and walk you through signing in; a terminal client takes a single command.

From there your agent discovers what it can do by itself — nothing to configure, nothing to keep in sync when we add something new.

**ChatGPT**

Write next week’s posts from the changelog

**Checked with Postpone**

Four posts are on the calendar for next week:

- Monday 9:00 AM on X, the release thread
- Tuesday 11:30 AM on LinkedIn, the same release in long form
- Wednesday 8:00 AM on Instagram, the demo clip
- Thursday 4:00 PM on Threads, the one line version

Tell me to hold any of them back as drafts and I will move them before they go out.

## **Scheduling & Drafts**

### A Week of Posts From a Single Instruction

Your agent can write a post to any connected platform, with text, threads, links, titles, subreddits and media by URL or by library ID, and put it straight on the calendar.

Or it can save that same post as a draft, so a week of content is waiting for you to read rather than already out the door. Either way it lands in the same Postpone you already use, so you can open the app and see it.

**ChatGPT**

Move everything scheduled on Thursday to Saturday

**Checked with Postpone**

Thursday had two posts. Both are on Saturday now:

- Saturday 10:00 AM on Instagram, the demo clip, moved from Thursday 8:00 AM
- Saturday 2:00 PM on LinkedIn, the changelog summary, moved from Thursday 4:00 PM

The rest of the week is untouched: Reddit on Monday, X on Tuesday, and r/Entrepreneur on Friday.

## **The Calendar**

### Rearrange the Week Without Opening the App

It reads your calendar back in your own timezone, ordered by when things go out, so the state of next week is a sentence rather than a dashboard you have to go and look at.

And what it can read, it can change: move a post, edit the copy, or clear a day you are going to be away, so a change of plan costs you one message.

**ChatGPT**

Find a product shot we have never posted to r/SaaS

**Checked with Postpone**

Three images in your library have never gone to r/SaaS:

- calendar-week.png, labelled “product”, never posted anywhere
- dashboard-dark.png, labelled “product”, last used on X
- scheduler-mobile.png, labelled “product”, last used on Instagram

I have attached calendar-week.png to Wednesday’s post, since it is the one that has never gone out at all.

## **Content Library**

### Never Repost the Same Image by Accident

Ask for an image and your agent searches your Content Library by name, type, or label, then attaches what it finds by ID — no re-uploading, no guessing at a URL.

It can also ask for only what has never been used, never been scheduled, or never been sent to a given subreddit, which is the difference between an agent that fills the queue and one that repeats you.

**ChatGPT**

How did last month actually go?

**Checked with Postpone**

Last month you published 34 posts across six accounts and gained 2,140 followers, up 11% on the month before.

- Reddit, 18 posts and 1,290 new followers, your best month yet
- X, 9 posts and 480 new followers
- Instagram, 7 posts and 370 new followers, down slightly

The two posts that did most of that work were both r/SaaS text posts opening with a number. Want three more like them for next week?

## **Reporting**

### Know What Worked Without Building a Report

Your agent can read the posts that published across every connected platform, the engagement each one drew, and how your follower count has moved over time.

That is enough for it to summarise a month, spot the posts worth repeating, and tell you which account is actually growing — without you opening a dashboard or exporting a CSV.

## What Your Agent Can Do for You

All of it in plain language, against your real accounts — you ask, it does the work, and the result shows up in Postpone.

- ### Fill the Queue

  Schedule posts to any connected platform, or save them as drafts for you to approve. Ask for a week of content and get a week of content — on the calendar, not in a chat window.
- ### Own the Calendar

  “Push everything back a day, I’m travelling” is one sentence instead of twenty drag-and-drops. Your agent reads what is scheduled and can move, edit, or clear any of it.
- ### See What Went Out

  Published posts across every platform, with a link straight to each one. The Monday recap writes itself, and you stop opening five apps to find out what shipped.
- ### Track Follower Growth

  Follower counts over time for every connected account, so “are we actually growing?” gets answered with a number instead of a feeling — and per platform, not just in total.
- ### Pull Post Metrics

  Engagement on the posts you published, post by post. Your agent can find the ones worth repeating, tell you what they had in common, and then schedule more of them.
- ### Use Media You Haven’t Used

  Search your Content Library by name, type, or label — and filter to what has never gone out. An automated queue stops recycling the same three images, without you policing it.

## Your Agent Can Post to Eleven Platforms

The MCP server publishes to eleven platforms from the same connected accounts, and each one has a page on what your agent can do there.

- [**LinkedIn**Company Pages and profiles](https://www.postpone.app/platforms/linkedin-mcp)
- [**Reddit**Titled posts to your subreddits](https://www.postpone.app/platforms/reddit-mcp)
- [**X**Posts and threads](https://www.postpone.app/platforms/twitter-mcp)
- [**Threads**Posts and threads](https://www.postpone.app/platforms/threads-mcp)

- [**TikTok**Videos and photo posts](https://www.postpone.app/platforms/tiktok-mcp)
- [**Pinterest**Pins to your boards](https://www.postpone.app/platforms/pinterest-mcp)

Tumblr is the one platform the MCP server does not reach. The [**Postpone API**](https://www.postpone.app/features/social-media-api) covers it, along with the other eleven.

## Works With the AI Client You Already Use

Any MCP client connects to Postpone the same way. These have their own setup pages, alongside Zapier and n8n for the wiring in between.

## Connect Postpone to Your Agent

Three steps, whichever client you use.

1. 1 ### Connect your social accounts

   Sign up and link the accounts you want your agent to work with. It can only reach accounts you have already connected, and it posts as you.
2. 2 ### Add the MCP server

   In a hosted client, add https://api.postpone.app/mcp as a remote MCP server and sign in with OAuth. In a self-hosted one, send a personal API key as a bearer token instead.
3. 3 ### Ask for something

   “What goes out this week?” is a good first question — it only reads, so it proves the connection before your agent writes anything.

### **Which AI clients can connect to Postpone?**

Any client that speaks the Model Context Protocol. Postpone runs a remote MCP server at a single URL, which covers Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Cursor, VS Code, Perplexity, Grok, Mistral Vibe, Microsoft Copilot, OpenClaw, Zapier, n8n, and Raycast, along with anything you build on an agent framework yourself. Step-by-step guides for the common clients live in your Postpone account under Settings → AI Agents & MCP.

[**Read the MCP docs **](https://developers.postpone.app/getting-started/ai-mcp)

### **Can an AI agent post to my social accounts without asking me first?**

Anything that creates or deletes a post comes with an instruction telling the client to show you the exact content first, and a well-behaved client will always ask. That is a protocol-level convention rather than a lock, so the real control is the scope you grant: connect with OAuth and approve reading without approving writing, and the ability to write simply is not there.

### **What can an AI agent actually do through Postpone’s MCP server?**

Schedule posts and drafts to any connected platform, read and change your calendar, report on what published and how it performed, track follower growth per account, and search your content library — including filtering to media you have never used. It works from the accounts you have already connected, and everything it does appears in Postpone.

### **Does connecting an AI agent give it my social media passwords?**

No, connecting an AI agent gives it no credentials at all. Postpone does not hold a password to any social network, so there is none for an agent to reach. Each account is connected through that platform's own OAuth flow, and the access tokens those flows return are encrypted at rest. Bluesky is the one exception and it is not your password either: it is a revocable App Password you generate inside Bluesky.

An agent never touches any of that. It asks Postpone to schedule a post, and Postpone publishes it from the connection you authorized yourself. Revoking the agent leaves every social account connected, and disconnecting a social account leaves the agent with nothing to publish to.

### **Can I revoke an AI agent's access to my Postpone account?**

Yes, at any time and without touching anything else. An OAuth connection is listed under Settings → AI Agents & MCP and can be revoked there, which stops the agent on its next request. A personal API key is revoked the same way, and you can set an expiry date when you create one so access lapses on its own rather than outliving the project it was for. Your social accounts, scheduled posts and content library are all unaffected, because the agent never held those connections in the first place.

[**Read the MCP docs **](https://developers.postpone.app/getting-started/ai-mcp)

### **Does MCP access to Postpone cost extra?**

No, MCP access to Postpone costs nothing extra on top of a paid plan, and the free trial of any paid plan includes it; the free plan does not. It uses the same API key and the same rate-limit budget as the GraphQL API, 300 requests per 10 minutes, and needs a confirmed email address.

[**See plans **](https://www.postpone.app/plans)

### **Can I use the Postpone API instead of MCP?**

Yes, and for anything programmatic you probably should. MCP is for natural language: a person asking an agent to do something. The GraphQL API is for code you write once and run on a schedule, and it reaches the whole product — analytics time series, post tags, media uploads, and every platform-specific option.

[**Postpone for developers **](https://www.postpone.app/use-cases/developers)

### **Is my Postpone data used to train AI models?**

No, Postpone does not use your data to train AI models. The MCP server answers requests from the client you connected and returns your own data to it, one request at a time, so a question about next week returns next week and nothing more. What your AI provider then does with that conversation is governed by their terms rather than Postpone's, which is worth reading before you point an agent at a business account. Scopes are the lever if you would rather not find out: an agent granted no media scope never sees your content library.
