# Content Curation

Content curation is finding, organizing and sharing valuable third-party content with your audience alongside your own original posts.

You don't have to create everything from scratch. Some of the most valuable accounts on social media are the ones that surface the best content from everywhere else.

Content curation means finding high-quality articles, posts, videos, and resources from other sources and sharing them with your audience. You're acting as a filter — saving people the time of finding this stuff themselves.

## Curation vs. Aggregation

Aggregation is dumping links without context. Curation adds value. The difference is your perspective. When you share an article, add your take on it. Highlight the one insight that matters most. Explain why your audience should care. That editorial layer is what turns a shared link into valuable content.

On Twitter/X and LinkedIn, a quote repost with your commentary can outperform an original post. On Reddit, sharing a relevant resource in a discussion thread with useful context earns upvotes and credibility.

## The Curation Mix

A common framework is the 60/40 or 70/30 split between original and curated content. The exact ratio depends on your capacity for original content and your audience's expectations.

Some content types lend themselves naturally to curation:

- **Industry news and reports** — share with your analysis
- **Expert takes** — amplify voices your audience should follow
- **Tools and resources** — "here's what I use" posts perform consistently well
- **Inspiration** — case studies, examples, and creative work from others

The key is staying on-brand. Only curate content that fits your content pillars. Random sharing dilutes your identity.

## Building a Curation System

Set up a system to collect shareable content before you need it. [RSS feeds](https://www.postpone.app/integrations/rss) from industry publications are a reliable source. Twitter/X lists let you monitor thought leaders. A simple bookmarks folder works for saving pieces throughout the week.

Batch your curation alongside your original content planning. When you sit down to plan next week's posts, pull from your saved collection. Add your commentary, schedule, and move on.

Credit the original creator every time. Tag them when possible. Good curation builds relationships — many of the creators you share will return the favor.

**Example**

A marketing agency shares a mix of 60% original content and 40% curated articles, industry reports, and expert threads. Their audience grows faster because followers see the account as a go-to resource — not just another brand pushing its own stuff.

## **Why It Matters**

Nobody wants to follow an account that only talks about itself. Curated content positions you as a trusted filter in a noisy space. It fills your content calendar without burning out your creative team, and it builds relationships with the creators you share.
