Connect once and LinkedIn asks which of the Pages and Profiles you have access to should come across; pick as many as you like, and each one counts as a single social account against your plan. The two behave slightly differently once connected. A personal profile can post publicly or to connections only; a Company Page always posts publicly, because that is what LinkedIn requires of an organization. Mentions differ too — see below. LinkedIn lets an app look up a person only if they follow the Page doing the posting, and it does not offer people search to personal profiles at all — so a mention of a colleague works from your Page and is not available from your own profile. Any LinkedIn Page can be mentioned from either: paste its Page URL into the post and Postpone converts it into a real mention. One rule catches people out. LinkedIn only turns a mention into a link when the name matches the profile or Page name exactly, capitalisation included, so editing a name after inserting it (adding credentials, say) publishes it as ordinary text with no link and no notification. Insert from the dropdown and leave the name alone. Postpone schedules three LinkedIn post types: text of up to 3,000 characters, a media post carrying up to 20 images or one video, and an article post that shares a link with its preview card. A 20-image post is the closest thing to a swipeable carousel and covers most of what a document post is used for. Two limits go with it: a video cannot sit alongside images in the same post, and an article post cannot carry media of its own. It is the usual home for hashtags or a link you would rather not put in the opening lines. One caveat worth knowing before you write it: LinkedIn treats mentions in comments differently from mentions in posts, so an @mention placed in the first comment publishes as plain text. Keep the mentions in the post. A scheduled first comment gets its own 1,250 on top. Mentions are the one thing that costs more than it looks: LinkedIn stores a mention with the profile or Page identifier attached, and the whole thing counts toward the 3,000 even though the published post shows only the name. Images can be .jpeg, .jpg, .png, .webp or Apple’s .heic, and Postpone shrinks anything over LinkedIn’s 36-megapixel ceiling for you rather than failing the upload. Video is .mp4 or .mov, between 75 KB and 500 MB, and between 3 seconds and 30 minutes long — and you can pick the cover frame before it goes out. Postpone emails you a week before that happens so you can re-authorize before anything fails, and any account needing attention is listed under Settings > Social Accounts > Attention Required with a Reconnect button. Reconnecting takes one trip through the LinkedIn login and your queue carries on untouched.
