You generate an App Password under Settings > Privacy and Security > App passwords in Bluesky, name it something like "Postpone", and paste it in with your handle. Your real password never leaves Bluesky. An App Password can be revoked from that same screen at any time without changing your account password or touching anything else you have connected. There is one optional checkbox while you generate it — allow access to your direct messages — which you only need if you want Bluesky DMs in the Postpone inbox. Enter your full handle and Postpone looks up where it is hosted, so a custom domain on your own PDS connects exactly the way a default handle does. Threads are unlimited in length, every post in one publishes at the same scheduled time, and Postpone can split long-form writing into a numbered Bluesky thread for you. That is a platform limitation rather than a Postpone one, and it catches people out when they crosspost from X, where a GIF is a first-class attachment. What a Bluesky post can carry is either 1-4 images (jpeg, png, webp or heic, up to 2 MB and 4000x4000 each, reduced automatically if larger) or one video (mp4, mpeg, webm or mov, up to 300 MB and 3 minutes). Views, engagement rate and link clicks are not among them: Postpone reports those on the platforms that report them back, and Bluesky is not one of them, so judge a Bluesky post on the interactions it collected rather than an impressions number. Replies to your Bluesky posts arrive in Postpone's Conversations alongside Threads, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube, and Bluesky is one of the two networks whose direct messages come through as well. DMs need the App Password you generated to have had the direct messages checkbox ticked — if you skipped it, generate a new one and reconnect.
