Zapier and Postpone

# Automate Social Posts with Zapier and Postpone

Connect Postpone to Zapier and anything that happens in the 9,000 apps Zapier reaches can become a scheduled post: a new product in Shopify, a row in a Google Sheet, a form submission, a deal closed in your CRM. No code, and nine platforms on the other end.

## **Zapier Triggers for Social Posts**

### Post From Any App in Your Stack

Start a Zap from a trigger in any app Zapier connects to and end it with [**Postpone's Zapier app**](https://zapier.com/apps/postpone/integrations). A new product, a form response, a spreadsheet row: the event's own details become the caption, the link and the media, so a finished post is ready every time it fires, from tools [**Postpone's own automations**](https://www.postpone.app/features/social-media-automation) cannot watch.

## **Schedule Social Posts with Zapier**

### Nine Platforms, Each With Its Own Options

One Zap can schedule a post to each of nine platforms, including ones Postpone's built-in automations do not reach, and every post is written for where it lands, with that platform's own options. The posts arrive on your Postpone calendar like any other and can be edited there until they publish.

## **Zapier Social Media Scheduling**

### Set the Time From the Event Itself

Give the Zap a time and the post is scheduled for it, counted from the event itself: an hour after the product goes live, or the next morning at nine, so a launch announces itself when the launch happens. Every post lands on the Postpone calendar, where you can drag, edit or hold it back before it goes out.

## Everything a Zap Can Do in Postpone

Six things a trigger in another app can turn into, without anyone writing code.

- ### A Post From Any Trigger

A new Shopify product, a Typeform response, a HubSpot deal, a Notion page, a Google Sheets row, a calendar event. If Zapier has a trigger for it, it can schedule a post in Postpone.
- ### One Trigger, a Post Per Platform

Add a Postpone action per platform to the same Zap and one event becomes an Instagram post, a TikTok, a tweet and a LinkedIn update, each with its own copy.
- ### Media From the Trigger

Map an image or video URL from the trigger into the post and Postpone attaches it. A product photo from your store goes out with the product, with no upload step.
- ### Timed From the Event

Schedule for an exact time, or one offset from the trigger with Zapier's date formatting: an hour after the product goes live, or the next weekday morning.
- ### Still Editable in Postpone

Every post a Zap creates lands on the calendar like any other. Open it, change the wording, swap the media or move it, right up until it publishes.
- ### See How Each Post Performs

Posts scheduled by a Zap show up in analytics like any other, so you can compare what a launch Zap produced with what you wrote by hand and see which platform your customers are actually on.

## Nine Platforms From One Zap

The Postpone action in Zapier schedules posts to these platforms.

- [**X**Posts and threads](https://www.postpone.app/platforms/twitter-post-scheduler)
- [**Instagram**Creator and Business accounts](https://www.postpone.app/platforms/instagram-post-scheduler)
- [**TikTok**Video](https://www.postpone.app/platforms/tiktok-post-scheduler)
- [**Threads**Posts and threads](https://www.postpone.app/platforms/threads-scheduler)

- [**YouTube**Shorts](https://www.postpone.app/platforms/youtube-shorts-scheduler)
- [**Bluesky**Posts and threads](https://www.postpone.app/platforms/bluesky-post-scheduler)

Mastodon, Pinterest and Tumblr are not in the Zapier action yet. Postpone's [**built-in automations**](https://www.postpone.app/features/social-media-automation) reach Mastodon from any feed, and the [**Postpone API**](https://www.postpone.app/features/social-media-api) reaches all twelve platforms from anything that can make an HTTP request.

## Connect Postpone to Zapier in Three Steps

Connect the two once and anything Zapier watches can schedule a post.

1. 1 ### Create a Postpone API key

Generate a key that Zapier authenticates with once and that you can revoke whenever you like, on a plan that includes API access.
2. 2 ### Add Postpone to a Zap

Pick the app that starts your Zap and end it with a Postpone action, mapping the trigger's own details into the post it creates.
3. 3 ### Turn the Zap on

Every trigger from then on schedules a post on your Postpone calendar, so anything Zapier watches can become social content without you writing code.

> ### My followers have grown 7 times over.
>
> Managing all my social media accounts was becoming a full time job itself, until I found Postpone. Now my followers have grown 7 times over across X/Twitter, Reddit, Threads, Instagram, and Bluesky all through one easy to use dashboard. I use Zapier's integration with Postpone extensively to automate my workflow, while the analytics allow me to focus my effort on what supporters engage with. Postpone has saved me so much time and energy, that it's been well worth the investment.

### **What can I automate with Postpone and Zapier?**

Zapier connects Postpone to around 9,000 other apps, so a new row in a spreadsheet, a form submission, a CRM event or a shipped product can create a scheduled post with no code. It is the route to take when the trigger lives somewhere Postpone's own feeds cannot watch, which is most internal tools.

[**Postpone on Zapier **](https://zapier.com/apps/postpone/integrations)

### **Which platforms can a Zap post to?**

Nine: Reddit, X, Instagram Creator and Business accounts, TikTok, Threads, Facebook Pages, LinkedIn profiles and Pages, YouTube Shorts and Bluesky. Mastodon, Pinterest and Tumblr are not in the Zapier action; the Postpone API reaches all twelve.

[**The Postpone API **](https://www.postpone.app/features/social-media-api)

### **Does Zapier reach platforms that Postpone automations do not?**

Yes, and this is the reason to reach for it even when a feed would do. Postpone's own automations publish to seven platforms; the Zapier integration also schedules to Instagram Creator and Business accounts, TikTok and YouTube Shorts. The GraphQL API is the third route and covers all twelve.

[**How automations work **](https://www.postpone.app/features/social-media-automation)

### **Should I use Zapier, feeds or the Postpone API?**

Feeds if the trigger is something you already publish, since it needs no third-party subscription and no code. Zapier if the trigger is an app in your stack and you would rather not write anything. The GraphQL API if you are already writing code, want all twelve platforms, or need something the other two do not expose.

[**Postpone for developers **](https://www.postpone.app/use-cases/developers)

### **Does the Zapier integration cost extra?**

Nothing on the Postpone side beyond a plan that includes API access, since Zapier connects with a Postpone API key. Zapier itself has a free plan that allows up to 100 tasks a month.

[**See plans **](https://www.postpone.app/plans)

### **Can I edit a post that a Zap created?**

Yes, a post scheduled by a Zap lands on your Postpone calendar like any other. Open it to change the wording, swap the media, move it to another time or delete it, right up until it publishes. A Zap can also create the post as a draft if you would rather approve each one.
