WordPress and Postpone

# Auto-Share New WordPress Posts to Social Media with Postpone

Postpone watches your WordPress site and turns every new post into scheduled posts on X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Threads and more. No plugin, no API key: it works with WordPress.com and self-hosted sites alike, for anyone who publishes on WordPress and wants each post promoted without doing it by hand.

## **Auto-Share WordPress Posts**

### Share Every New Post Without a Plugin

Paste your WordPress site's address and every post shows up in Postpone on its own, with its title, link and featured image ready to post. Nothing is installed alongside your theme and no admin login changes hands. Post one yourself, or hand the whole job to an [**automation**](https://www.postpone.app/features/social-media-automation) and let each post promote itself.

## **Social Post Templates for WordPress**

### Write the Social Post Once and Let Every Article Fill It In

Write the social post once, the way you would write it yourself, and every new WordPress article fills it in with its own title, link and excerpt. Each platform gets its own version, a thread here and a longer update there, and a live preview shows what will go out before you save.

## **WordPress Social Media Automation**

### Decide How Much Each Post Publishes on Its Own

Choose how much each WordPress post does on its own: the social post can wait as a draft for a read-through, go out on a delay you set, or publish as soon as Postpone sees the article. Pause the automation whenever you like, and the run history shows every post that did not go out, and why.

## Everything Postpone Does With a New WordPress Post

Six things Postpone can do with a new article, all from the feed it already reads.

- ### One Article, a Post for Every Platform

A single automation holds several actions, each aimed at one account with its own template. The same article can read as a hook on X, a post on your Facebook Page and a summary on LinkedIn, all from the same run.
- ### Nothing to Install on WordPress

Postpone reads the feed your site already publishes, so there is no plugin to keep updated, no API key and no change to your theme. A site on WordPress.com and a self-hosted one connect the same way.
- ### Timing That Suits Each Platform

Give each action its own delay. Publish to Bluesky as the article goes live, wait until the next morning for LinkedIn and hold Facebook for the evening, all from one article and one automation.
- ### Review Before Anything Goes Out

Set an action to draft rather than publish and the post waits in Drafts. Change the wording, swap the image, then schedule it yourself. Nothing publishes until you say so.
- ### Let the AI Write the Post From the Link

Paste an article's link into Postpone's AI writer and it reads the page and drafts a post or a whole thread from it, in the tone you have set for that platform.
- ### See How Each Post Performs on Social

Every post an automation publishes shows up in analytics like any other, so you can compare posts by likes, replies and impressions and see which platform your readers are actually on.

## Seven Platforms From One WordPress Feed

An automation schedules posts to these platforms on its own.

- [**LinkedIn**Profiles and Pages](https://www.postpone.app/platforms/linkedin-scheduler)
- [**Bluesky**Posts and threads](https://www.postpone.app/platforms/bluesky-post-scheduler)
- [**Threads**Posts and threads](https://www.postpone.app/platforms/threads-scheduler)
- [**Mastodon**Posts and threads](https://www.postpone.app/platforms/mastodon-post-scheduler)
- [**Facebook**Pages](https://www.postpone.app/platforms/facebook-post-scheduler)
- [**Reddit**Posts to a subreddit](https://www.postpone.app/platforms/reddit-post-scheduler)

Need Instagram, TikTok or YouTube Shorts as well? The [**Zapier integration**](https://www.postpone.app/integrations/zapier) schedules to those from any trigger Zapier supports, and the [**Postpone API**](https://www.postpone.app/features/social-media-api) reaches all twelve platforms.

## Connect WordPress to Postpone in Three Steps

Set it up once and every post you publish promotes itself.

1. 1 ### Add your site as a feed

Point Postpone at your WordPress site and it watches for new posts, with no plugin to install, hosted on WordPress.com or your own server.
2. 2 ### Build the automation

Write one template per platform from the post's title, link and excerpt, then choose whether each post drafts, schedules itself or publishes right away.
3. 3 ### Publish your next post

Postpone spots the new post and fills your template, so everything you publish promotes itself as a draft, a scheduled post or one published on the spot.

Questions About Postpone and WordPress

How Postpone reads a site, what it does with each post, and where the social posts land.

### **How do I share new WordPress posts automatically with Postpone?**

Postpone reads your WordPress site's feed and posts from it, with no plugin to install. Add the site under Feeds, then write one automation template using the article's title, link, excerpt or author, and every new post becomes a social post from that day on.

You choose whether it drafts for your review, schedules itself or publishes on the spot.

[**How automations work **](https://www.postpone.app/features/social-media-automation)

### **Does this work with WordPress.com and self-hosted WordPress?**

Yes, both, because Postpone reads the feed WordPress publishes rather than talking to your admin. A self-hosted install and a WordPress.com site expose the same thing, so neither needs credentials handed over and nothing has to be installed alongside your theme.

[**Every supported feed source **](https://help.postpone.app/content/feeds/supported-feed-sources)

### **Can one WordPress article post differently to each platform?**

Yes, that is what multiple actions are for. Each action targets one social account and carries its own template, so a single article can get a Reddit title with a subreddit and flair, a thread on X, and a longer LinkedIn post, all from the same run. The editor previews each one against your most recent article before you save it.

[**The three action types **](https://help.postpone.app/scheduling/automation/actions)

### **Can I edit the post before it goes out?**

Yes, set the action to draft a post instead of scheduling or submitting it and Postpone leaves the post in your Drafts. Open it, change the wording, swap the image, then schedule it yourself.

A scheduled post can also be edited on the calendar right up until it publishes.

[**The social media scheduler **](https://www.postpone.app/features/social-media-scheduler)

### **How long after I publish does the post go out?**

Postpone checks your site's feed on a schedule rather than the instant you hit publish, so there is a short delay before the automation runs. Feeds are polled, not pushed.

After that it depends on the action. A submitted post publishes as soon as the run starts, and a scheduled post waits for the delay you set, counted from that moment.

[**Automation troubleshooting **](https://help.postpone.app/scheduling/automation/troubleshooting)

### **Which platforms can a WordPress automation post to?**

Seven: X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Threads, Mastodon, Facebook and Reddit. Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Pinterest and Tumblr are not available to automations. The Zapier integration reaches the first three of those and the Postpone API reaches all twelve.
