OpenClaw and Postpone

# Schedule Social Posts from OpenClaw with Postpone

OpenClaw is an open-source agent you run on your own hardware. Point it at the Postpone MCP server and it can schedule posts, read what is already on the calendar and report on what published, through whatever interface you have it wired into and on whatever schedule you give it.

Fill next week's queue from this week's release notes

**Scheduled in Postpone**

Four posts are on the calendar for next week, one per release note, spread around what was already there:

- Monday 9:00 AM on X, the thread on the new export
- Tuesday 11:30 AM on LinkedIn, the same release in long form
- Wednesday 8:00 AM on Mastodon, the one line version
- Thursday 4:00 PM on Threads, the one line version with the screenshot

The screenshot is export-dialog.png from your library, which had never gone out. I will run again on Sunday evening unless you tell me otherwise.

## **Social Media MCP for OpenClaw**

### One Entry in the Config, Two Ways to Sign In

Add Postpone to OpenClaw once, whether it is an instance you sit in front of or one running unattended, and the [**agent**](https://www.postpone.app/use-cases/agents) can write, schedule and report on your social posts. It only ever reaches the accounts you have connected in Postpone, and everything it does shows up there as if you had done it.

**OpenClaw**

Push everything scheduled for Thursday to Friday, the office is closed

**Scheduled in Postpone**

Thursday had two posts. Both are on Friday now, at the same times:

- Friday 4:00 PM on Threads, the one line version, moved from Thursday
- Friday 6:00 PM on Instagram, the demo clip, moved from Thursday

The rest of the week is untouched. Say so if you would rather they went out Monday instead of into the weekend.

## **Schedule Posts in OpenClaw**

### A Queue That Fills Itself on Sunday Evening

Give OpenClaw a changelog, a feed or a folder of notes and ask for the week, and the posts are on the calendar before Monday: one for each platform in its own shape, at times picked around what is already scheduled, with library media that has never gone out. Ask for drafts and nothing publishes unread.

**OpenClaw**

How did every account do last week?

**Checked with Postpone**

Last week you published 11 posts across four accounts and gained 640 followers, up 8% on the week before:

- X, 5 posts and 310 new followers, the release thread did most of it
- LinkedIn, 2 posts and 190 new followers
- Mastodon, 2 posts and 90 new followers
- Threads, 2 posts and 50 new followers, down slightly

The release thread was the week's best post on every measure. Want it reposted to Bluesky, where it has not been?

## **Social Analytics in OpenClaw**

### The Weekly Numbers, Delivered Wherever OpenClaw Talks to You

OpenClaw can read what you published, how each post performed and how every account's following has moved, so the Monday recap arrives in the chat, the channel or the inbox you already talk to it in, without anyone opening a dashboard. Because it can also schedule, more posts like the best ones can go straight onto the calendar.

## Let OpenClaw Run Your Social Posting

Your self-hosted agent can schedule, update and report on posts across your connected accounts, whether you are watching or it is running on a schedule.

- ### Schedule Posts on Its Own

Tell the agent once what a week should look like and it books the posts on your accounts, or leaves them as drafts if you want to sign off on each one.
- ### Keep the Calendar Up to Date

The agent can read what is scheduled, change it and remove posts that should not go out, so the week stays in order even when you are away.
- ### Write Posts From a Link

Give the agent a link and it reads the page on your own machine, then writes a version for each platform. Postpone only receives the finished posts.
- ### Never Repeat an Image

The agent can pick only media that has never been posted, so an unattended run chooses something new instead of the same file every time.
- ### Get a Regular Performance Report

Have the agent pull the results for each post, and the totals, on whatever schedule you set, then adjust the posts ahead based on what worked.
- ### Keep Your Own Growth Record

The agent can save follower counts for each account as often as you like, so your growth history lives in your own files.

## Post to Eleven Platforms From OpenClaw

The MCP server schedules to eleven platforms from the same connected accounts, and reads the calendar and the numbers for every one of them.

## Connect Postpone to OpenClaw in Three Steps

Connect OpenClaw once and it can schedule, move and report on your posts.

1. 1 ### Sign in or create a key

Sign in with OAuth for an instance you use yourself, or create a key in Postpone's own API settings for one that runs unattended.
2. 2 ### Add the Postpone server

Add https://api.postpone.app/mcp to OpenClaw the way you add any remote MCP server, and your whole Postpone account is in reach of the agent.
3. 3 ### Ask it for something

Ask OpenClaw to list your connected social accounts first: that only reads, so it proves the connection before anything is scheduled. Then ask for a post.

## **OpenClaw Integration FAQs**

Questions About Postpone and OpenClaw

How a self-hosted agent connects, what it can and cannot do, and how to keep it on a leash.

Still have questions? Check out our help center for answers to most of your questions, or reach out to our support team.

[**Visit the Help Center **](https://help.postpone.app/) [**Contact us **](https://www.postpone.app/contact)

### **Can a self-hosted agent connect to Postpone?**

Yes, and OpenClaw is the open-source case this covers. A self-hosted client can sign in to Postpone's MCP server at https://api.postpone.app/mcp with OAuth like a hosted one, or send a personal API key as a bearer token instead, so the agent can run on your own hardware and still schedule to every account you have connected.

[**Postpone for AI agents **](https://www.postpone.app/use-cases/agents)

### **What is the trade-off of using an API key instead of OAuth?**

An API key bypasses scope checks entirely and can read and write everything, where an OAuth connection is granted only the scopes you approve and returns a 403 for anything outside them. That makes a key right for a headless client you control and wrong for one you do not. Give the key an expiry when you create it so access lapses on its own.

[**Postpone for AI agents **](https://www.postpone.app/use-cases/agents)

### **What can a self-hosted agent do with my Postpone account?**

The same set any MCP client gets: schedule posts and drafts to any connected platform, read and change the calendar, report on what published and how it performed, track follower growth, and search the content library. Connecting social accounts, replying to comments and deleting published posts are all outside it.

[**Postpone for AI agents **](https://www.postpone.app/use-cases/agents)

### **Can OpenClaw run Postpone tasks on a schedule?**

Yes, an OpenClaw instance can run a Postpone task on whatever schedule you give it, because scheduling the run is OpenClaw's job and scheduling the posts is Postpone's. A weekly fill, a Monday report or a nightly check of tomorrow's queue are all one standing instruction.

[**The Postpone API **](https://www.postpone.app/features/social-media-api)

### **Will OpenClaw post to my accounts without asking me?**

Anything that creates or deletes a post comes with an instruction telling the client to show you the exact content first. For an unattended instance the real control is the instruction: ask for drafts and nothing publishes until a person moves it to the calendar.

[**Read the MCP docs **](https://developers.postpone.app/getting-started/ai-mcp)

### **Does connecting OpenClaw to Postpone cost extra?**

No, MCP access costs nothing on top of your Postpone plan. It comes with every paid plan and the free trial of any of them, though not the free plan, and needs a confirmed email address.
