OneDrive and Postpone

# Schedule Social Posts from OneDrive with Postpone

Postpone connects to your OneDrive so an image or video in your Microsoft 365 files goes straight into a post, without downloading it and uploading it again. It is built for teams who work in Microsoft 365 all day and publish to social from the same files.

## **Create Social Posts from OneDrive**

### Post the File Your Team Already Shared, Without Downloading It

The file your team already shared can be in a scheduled post straight from OneDrive, with nothing downloaded to your machine on the way. Pick one file or several, video or image, and each posts in the form the platform takes it. The folder, its sharing and its version history stay as your team left them.

## **OneDrive Files in Content Library**

### One Library for Social, However Many Folders the Company Has

Every file you import lands in Postpone's [**Content Library**](https://www.postpone.app/features/content-library), so what marketing means to post is in one place even when it started in four departments' OneDrive folders. Label files by campaign or account, and filter to what has never gone out, so when several teams share one company page the same offsite photo stops appearing three weeks running.

## **Watermark and Edit OneDrive Media**

### Brand the Copy That Posts and Leave the Source File Alone

Save the company logo, handle or website as a watermark preset once and every image you import from OneDrive carries it, while the source file stays unbranded, which is what the rest of the company needs it to be. Crop, rotate or filter in Postpone's own editor, and nothing needs a second app.

## Everything Postpone Does With a File From OneDrive

Six things a file can do once it is in Postpone, none of which need a download.

- ### Import Without Downloading

Browse your OneDrive from inside the upload dialog and pull a file straight into a post or the Content Library. It never passes through your downloads folder, and OneDrive itself is untouched.
- ### Your Microsoft Account, Your Files

Sign in with the Microsoft account that holds the files and browse what it can see. Whether a work or school account can connect depends on what your organization allows third-party apps to do.
- ### Video as Well as Images

An MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV in OneDrive posts anywhere the platform takes video, with a cover image of your choosing on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest and LinkedIn.
- ### A Watermark on Every Import

Your default preset, a logo or up to 500 characters of text in one of six fonts, lands on each imported image at the size, opacity and corner you set. Applied as the file arrives, if you choose.
- ### Scheduled or Queued, Not Posted by Hand

A file attached to a post goes out at the time you pick, or at the next slot in a custom schedule, on every platform you chose. Auto-repost can run it again later.
- ### See How Each Asset Performs

Every post shows up in analytics like any other, so the case study card and the keynote clip can be compared by impressions, likes and views before the next one is made.

## Twelve Platforms From One OneDrive Folder

## Connect OneDrive to Postpone in Three Steps

Connect OneDrive once and your files are ready to schedule.

1. 1 ### Connect your accounts

Add the social accounts you publish to, then sign in to OneDrive with your Microsoft account the first time you import a file.
2. 2 ### Import a file into a post

Bring an image or video out of OneDrive and into Postpone without downloading it first. Postpone reads your files and changes nothing in OneDrive.
3. 3 ### Schedule it and keep it

Attach the file to a post, choose the platforms and set the time. It stays in your Content Library, watermarked if you set a default.

Questions About Postpone and OneDrive

How Postpone reads your files, what happens to them once imported, and where they can go.

Still have questions? Check out our help center for answers to most of your questions, or reach out to our support team.

### **How does the OneDrive integration work?**

Postpone browses OneDrive from inside the app and imports a file straight into your Content Library or the post you are writing, with no download and re-upload in between. Open the upload dialog, choose the OneDrive tab and sign in.

The same dialog carries tabs for Google Drive, Google Photos, Dropbox, Box and Flickr, and Canva has an import button of its own.

### **Does this work with a work or school Microsoft account?**

Postpone lets you sign in with the Microsoft account that holds the files, and whether a work or school account can connect depends on what your organization allows third-party apps to do, so check with your admin if the sign-in is refused. Box is the other option where an organization keeps its media somewhere with tighter controls.

### **Are OneDrive imports watermarked automatically?**

Yes, Postpone applies your default watermark preset to a OneDrive import exactly as it does to a direct upload, so brand marks do not have to be baked into the files sitting in your cloud storage. Watermarks apply to images; videos and GIFs are left as they are.

[**The Content Library **](https://www.postpone.app/features/content-library)

### **Does the file stay in OneDrive or move into Postpone?**

The file stays in OneDrive and a copy lands in your Postpone Content Library, so the version Postpone publishes is the one you imported. A colleague editing the OneDrive original later does not change a post that is already scheduled.

[**The Content Library **](https://www.postpone.app/features/content-library)

### **Does Postpone sync a OneDrive folder or import new files on its own?**

No, Postpone imports the files you pick and nothing else. There is no folder watching and no sync, so what ends up in your Content Library is exactly what you chose. To bring in a batch, select several files in one visit to the dialog.

[**The Content Library **](https://www.postpone.app/features/content-library)

### **Can I post a video from OneDrive?**

Yes, Postpone imports video from OneDrive the same way it imports an image and posts it anywhere the platform takes video. MP4 is preferred, and MOV, WebM and MKV work too. Images can be JPEG, PNG, HEIC or WebP up to 20 MB.
