Muse and Postpone

# Schedule Social Posts from Muse with Postpone

Muse is Meta's personal agent: it runs on its own cloud computer, connects to the services in your life, and keeps working on a task after you close the app. Postpone is not in its connector list yet, so you ask Muse to build a custom connector, hand it a Postpone API key, and from then on your posting schedule is one more errand on its list.

Schedule "Doors open at 7 tonight" to Instagram and Threads for Friday at 9 AM

**Scheduled in Postpone**

Two posts are scheduled for Friday at 9:00 AM in your timezone, through your Postpone connector:

- Instagram, the line with the storefront photo from your library
- Threads, the line on its own

Neither has published yet. Say the word and I will hold them as drafts so you can read them first.

### Muse Builds the Connector Itself

Ask Muse to connect to Postpone and it builds the connector itself, walking you through the little it needs and keeping your key out of the conversation. From then on the [**assistant**](https://www.postpone.app/use-cases/agents) can write, schedule and report on your posts, reaching only the accounts you have connected, and everything shows up in Postpone as if you had done it.

Post the weekend market photo from my library to Instagram and Facebook on Saturday morning

**Scheduled in Postpone**

Scheduled for Saturday at 9:00 AM on both accounts, with market-stall.jpg from your Postpone library, which has never gone out:

- Instagram, "Back at the weekend market from 9. Come and find us by the fountain."
- Facebook, the same line with the map link

I will check on Saturday that both went out and let you know if either did not.

### The Errand Keeps Running After You Close the App

Tell Muse what should go out, where and when, and the posts are scheduled in Postpone: one for each platform in its own shape, at the time you name, with a library photo that has never gone out if you ask. A standing instruction keeps working after you close the app, and drafts publish nothing until you have read them.

How did Instagram go last month?

**Checked with Postpone**

Last month you published 12 posts on Instagram and gained 410 followers, up 6% on the month before. The two that did most of the work:

- The behind the counter Reel, 9,800 views and 620 likes
- The new menu carousel, 4,300 reach and 280 likes

Both showed the shop rather than the product. Want one more like them on the calendar for next week?

## **Social Analytics in Muse**

### Know What Worked Without Building a Report

Muse can read what you published, how each post performed and how every account's following has moved, so "how did last month go" is a question rather than an afternoon in a spreadsheet. Because it can also schedule, the answer turns straight into next week, with one more post like the best ones on the calendar.

## Hand Your Social Posting to Muse

Tell Muse what to post and when, and it takes care of it in Postpone while you get on with something else.

- ### Hand Off the Week's Posts

Describe what should go out and when, then leave it. Muse schedules the posts on your Postpone calendar, or saves them as drafts if you want to check them first.
- ### Change Plans Without the Busywork

Tell Muse a plan changed and it reads your schedule, moves the posts that need moving, rewrites any that mention the old day and leaves the rest alone.
- ### Pick Photos You Have Not Used

Muse can search your Content Library and choose images that have never been posted, so it finds what it needs without coming back to ask you.
- ### Turn a Link Into Posts

Give Muse a link to a newsletter, an event page or an article. It reads the page and writes a post for each platform, scheduled for when you asked.
- ### Check How the Posts Did

Ask Muse how the posts it scheduled performed and it reads back the results for each one, so you know the handoff is working.
- ### Track Your Follower Growth

Muse can report how each account's following has changed over time, so you see what a month of posting actually did.

## Post to Eleven Platforms From Muse

The MCP server schedules to eleven platforms from the same connected accounts, and reads the calendar and the numbers for every one of them.

## Connect Postpone to Muse in Three Steps

Connect Muse once and it can schedule, move and report on your posts.

1. 1 ### Create an API key

Your key comes from Postpone's own API settings. Give it an expiry, treat it as you would a password, and copy it somewhere safe, because it is only shown once.
2. 2 ### Ask Muse for a connector

Tell Muse to build a custom connector for Postpone's MCP server at https://api.postpone.app/mcp, and it keeps your key in its secure credentials store rather than in the conversation.
3. 3 ### Ask it for something

Ask Muse to list your connected social accounts first: that only reads, so it proves the connector works before anything is scheduled. Then ask for a post.

Questions About Postpone and Muse

### **How do I connect Postpone to Muse?**

Postpone is not yet in Muse's connector list, so you ask Muse to create a custom connector and give it the details when it asks: Postpone's MCP server at https://api.postpone.app/mcp and a Postpone API key sent as a Bearer token. Muse keeps the key in its Secure Credentials Store and uses it on your behalf from then on.

[**Set up Muse **](https://www.postpone.app/settings/mcp/muse)

### **Is it safe to give Muse a Postpone API key?**

An API key can read and write everything on your Postpone account, and Meta does not review custom connectors, so treat it as you would a password: give it an expiry when you create it and revoke it from Postpone's API settings if you stop using Muse. The key only ever reaches Postpone. Your social accounts are connected in Postpone, and no platform password is shared with Muse.

[**Postpone for AI agents **](https://www.postpone.app/use-cases/agents)

### **What can Muse do with my Postpone account?**

The same set any MCP client gets: schedule posts and drafts to any connected platform, read and change the calendar, report on what published and how it performed, track follower growth and search the content library. Connecting social accounts, replying to comments and deleting published posts are all outside it.

[**Postpone for AI agents **](https://www.postpone.app/use-cases/agents)

### **What if Muse gets stuck building the connector?**

Muse builds the Postpone connector itself, so the exact questions it asks can vary, and the fix is usually to give it the two facts it is missing: the server speaks the Model Context Protocol over streamable HTTP, and it authenticates with an Authorization header whose value is Bearer followed by your API key. Asking it to list your connected Postpone social accounts is the test that the connector works.

[**Read the MCP docs **](https://developers.postpone.app/getting-started/ai-mcp)

### **Will Muse post to my accounts without asking me?**

Anything that creates or deletes a post comes with an instruction telling Muse to show you the exact content first. That is a protocol convention rather than a lock, and an API key carries no scopes to narrow it, so the real control is the instruction: ask for drafts and nothing publishes until you move it to the calendar in Postpone.

[**The Postpone API **](https://www.postpone.app/features/social-media-api)

### **Does connecting Muse to Postpone cost extra?**

No, MCP access costs nothing on top of your Postpone plan. It comes with every paid plan and the free trial of any of them, though not the free plan, and needs a confirmed email address.
