Microsoft Copilot and Postpone

# Schedule Social Posts from Microsoft Copilot with Postpone

Microsoft Copilot is where a lot of teams already spend the day: in Teams, in Outlook and in the Microsoft 365 apps. Give a Copilot Studio agent the Postpone tools and anyone it is shared with can draft, schedule and report on social posts from a chat, each signed in to Postpone as themselves.

**Copilot**

Write a LinkedIn post from the announcement in this chat and schedule it for Tuesday at 9 AM

**Scheduled in Postpone**

Scheduled for Tuesday at 9:00 AM in your timezone on the Fairlight Systems Page:

- LinkedIn, the announcement with the customer quote and the link to the release page

It has not published yet. Want it saved as a draft instead so comms can read it in Postpone first?

**Copilot**

List the Postpone accounts I can post to

**Connected to Postpone**

Three accounts are available to you in Postpone:

- LinkedIn, Fairlight Systems, a Page
- X, @fairlightsys
- Facebook, Fairlight Systems, a Page

All three are ready to schedule to. Want to see what is on the calendar this week?

## **Social Media MCP for Copilot**

### Connected Once for the Whole Team

Connect a Copilot agent to Postpone once and the whole team can use it. Each person signs in to Postpone as themselves the first time, so the agent only ever reaches the [**accounts that person can see in Postpone**](https://www.postpone.app/features/social-media-scheduler), and everything it schedules or drafts shows up there as if they had done it.

**Copilot**

Schedule the webinar promotion across LinkedIn, X and Facebook next week

**Scheduled in Postpone**

Four posts are on the calendar for next week:

- Monday 9:00 AM on LinkedIn, the announcement with the registration link
- Tuesday 12:00 PM on X, the three things attendees will learn
- Wednesday 10:00 AM on Facebook, the announcement with the speaker photo
- Friday 9:00 AM on LinkedIn, the last call with the registration link

Say which to hold back and I will replace them with drafts comms can read first.

## **Schedule Posts in Copilot**

### From a Teams Chat to Posts on the Calendar

The announcement was agreed in a Teams chat and the assets are in the shared library. Ask the Copilot agent for the posts and it writes one per platform in that platform's shape, schedules them at the times you name, and reports back with the calendar it made. Ask for drafts and nothing publishes until comms has read it.

**Copilot**

How did last month's LinkedIn posts perform?

**Checked with Postpone**

Twelve posts went out on the Fairlight Systems Page last month, and two of them did most of the work:

- "Why we stopped charging for onboarding", 21,400 impressions and 312 reactions
- The customer story with the plant floor photo, 15,900 impressions and 204 reactions

Both were written around one customer's decision rather than a feature. Want two more in that shape on next week's calendar?

## **Social Analytics in Copilot**

### Know What Worked Without Building a Report

Ask the Copilot agent how last month went and get the answer in Teams rather than a deck someone builds on Friday: what you published, how each post performed and how every account's following has moved. Because it can also schedule, the posts worth repeating can turn into next week's calendar without leaving the chat.

## Let Your Team Manage Social Media From Copilot

Add Postpone to a Copilot agent and anyone on your team can schedule, update and report on posts by asking in chat.

- ### Draft Posts for Approval

Ask the agent for posts and it schedules them, or saves them as drafts in Postpone so someone can review them before anything is scheduled.
- ### Reschedule From a Team Chat

When a date moves in a meeting, anyone can tell the agent. It moves every affected post and shares the updated calendar in the chat.
- ### Turn a Press Release Into Posts

Paste a link to a press release or a product page and the agent writes a version for each platform and schedules them.
- ### Use Photos the Team Uploaded

The agent can search your Postpone library for media nobody has posted yet, so new photos get used instead of the same image going out again.
- ### Report on a Campaign in Chat

Anyone can ask how a campaign did and get the numbers for each post and the total, right in the chat. Nobody has to build a report.
- ### Track Your Follower Growth

Get follower counts over time for every connected account, so the whole team can see which platforms are growing.

## Post to Eleven Platforms From Copilot

The MCP server schedules to eleven platforms from the same connected accounts, and reads the calendar and the numbers for every one of them.

## Connect Postpone to Microsoft Copilot in Three Steps

Connect Microsoft Copilot once and it can schedule, move and report on your posts.

1. 1 ### Add Postpone to your agent

Postpone is added per agent in Copilot Studio, pointed at the MCP server at https://api.postpone.app/mcp, so the agent can work with your posts.
2. 2 ### Sign in to Postpone

Each person signs in to Postpone and approves access rather than sharing an API key, so there is no key to store or rotate.
3. 3 ### Publish the agent and ask

Publish the agent to your team, then ask it to list the Postpone accounts you can post to: it only reads, so it proves the connection.

Questions About Postpone and Microsoft Copilot

How a Copilot agent connects, what your team needs, what it can do, and what it costs.

Still have questions? Check out our help center for answers to most of your questions, or reach out to our support team.

[**Visit the Help Center **](https://help.postpone.app/) [**Contact us **](https://www.postpone.app/contact)

### **How do I connect Postpone to Microsoft Copilot?**

Postpone connects to Microsoft Copilot through a Copilot Studio agent. On the agent's Tools page you choose Add a tool, then New tool, then Model Context Protocol, enter https://api.postpone.app/mcp as the server URL and pick OAuth 2.0 with dynamic discovery, then publish the agent to Teams and Microsoft 365 Copilot. The consumer Copilot app does not accept custom MCP servers today, so the agent is the route.

[**Set up Microsoft Copilot **](https://www.postpone.app/settings/mcp/microsoft-copilot)

### **Can my whole team use one Copilot agent with Postpone?**

Yes, and each person still acts as themselves in Postpone. With OAuth every user signs in to Postpone on first use, so the agent posts from the accounts that person can see in Postpone and nothing more. A teammate without access to a client's account in Postpone cannot schedule to it through the agent either.

[**Teams and collaboration **](https://www.postpone.app/features/teams-and-collaboration)

### **Does Copilot need a Postpone API key?**

No, Postpone recommends OAuth for Copilot and it needs no key. The Copilot Studio wizard also offers API key authentication for a shared connection, in which case the key goes in an Authorization header as a Bearer token. A key bypasses scope checks and can read and write everything, so it suits an agent a small trusted group uses and OAuth suits everything else.

### **Do I need Microsoft 365 Copilot to use Postpone with Copilot?**

You need access to Copilot Studio to build the agent that carries the Postpone tools, which comes with Microsoft 365 Copilot or a standalone licence. The consumer Copilot app at copilot.microsoft.com does not take custom MCP servers today, so there is no route to Postpone from it without an agent.

[**Set up Microsoft Copilot **](https://www.postpone.app/settings/mcp/microsoft-copilot)

### **What can a Copilot agent do with my Postpone account?**

A Copilot agent can schedule posts and drafts to any connected platform, read and change your calendar, report on what published and how it performed, track follower growth per account, and search your content library including media you have never used. It cannot connect a social account, reply to comments or messages, act without being asked, or delete a post that has already gone out.

[**What an agent can do **](https://www.postpone.app/use-cases/agents)

### **Does connecting Copilot to Postpone cost extra?**

No, MCP access costs nothing on top of your Postpone plan. It comes with every paid plan and the free trial of any of them, though not the free plan, and needs a confirmed email address. Each person who signs in through the agent uses their own Postpone account's budget.
