Medium and Postpone

# Auto-Share New Medium Stories to Social Media with Postpone

Postpone watches your Medium profile or publication and turns every new story into scheduled posts on X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Threads and more. It is built for writers and editorial teams who want each story to reach beyond Medium's own readers without a promotion pass after every publish.

## **Auto-Share Medium Stories**

### Share Every New Story Without Copying a Link

Paste your Medium profile, publication or custom domain address and every story shows up in Postpone on its own, with its title, link and cover image ready to post. No login and no token. Post one yourself, or hand the whole job to an [**automation**](https://www.postpone.app/features/social-media-automation) and let each story promote itself.

## **Social Post Templates for Medium**

### Write the Post Once and Let Every Story Fill It In

Write the announcement once, the way you would write it yourself, and every new Medium story fills it in with its own title, link and summary. Each platform gets its own version, a thread here and a short note there, and a live preview shows what will go out before you save.

## **Medium Social Media Automation**

### Decide How Much Each Story Posts on Its Own

Choose how much each Medium story does on its own: the post can wait as a draft for a read-through, go out on a delay you set, or publish as soon as Postpone sees the story. Pause the automation whenever you like, and the run history shows every post that did not go out, and why.

## Everything Postpone Does With a New Story

Six things Postpone can do with a new story, all from the feed it already reads.

- ### One Story, a Post for Every Platform

A single automation holds several actions, each aimed at one account with its own template. The same story can read as a hook on X, a summary on LinkedIn and a one-liner on Threads, all from the same run.
- ### A Profile and a Publication, Separately

Your own profile and a publication you write for each produce a feed, so each can be its own source with its own automation. The two can post to different accounts in different voices.
- ### Timing That Suits Each Platform

Give each action its own delay. Publish to Bluesky as the story goes live, wait until the next morning for LinkedIn and hold X for the afternoon, all from one story and one automation.
- ### Review Before Anything Goes Out

Set an action to draft rather than publish and the post waits in Drafts. Change the wording, add an image, then schedule it yourself. Nothing publishes until you say so.
- ### Let the AI Write the Post From the Link

Paste a story's link into Postpone's AI writer and it reads the page and drafts a post or a whole thread from it, in the tone you have set for that platform.
- ### See How Each Post Performs on Social

Every post an automation publishes shows up in analytics like any other, so you can compare posts by likes, replies and impressions and see which platform your readers are actually on.

## Seven Platforms From One Medium Feed

An automation schedules posts to these platforms on its own.

- [**LinkedIn**Profiles and Pages](https://www.postpone.app/platforms/linkedin-scheduler)
- [**Bluesky**Posts and threads](https://www.postpone.app/platforms/bluesky-post-scheduler)
- [**Threads**Posts and threads](https://www.postpone.app/platforms/threads-scheduler)
- [**Mastodon**Posts and threads](https://www.postpone.app/platforms/mastodon-post-scheduler)
- [**Facebook**Pages](https://www.postpone.app/platforms/facebook-post-scheduler)
- [**Reddit**Posts to a subreddit](https://www.postpone.app/platforms/reddit-post-scheduler)

Need Instagram, TikTok or YouTube Shorts as well? The [**Zapier integration**](https://www.postpone.app/integrations/zapier) schedules to those from any trigger Zapier supports, and the [**Postpone API**](https://www.postpone.app/features/social-media-api) reaches all twelve platforms.

## Connect Medium to Postpone in Three Steps

Set it up once and every story you publish promotes itself.

1. 1 ### Add your profile as a feed

Point Postpone at your Medium profile, a publication or a custom domain, and it watches for new stories with no account to connect.
2. 2 ### Build the automation

Write one template per platform from the story's title, link and summary, then choose whether each post drafts, schedules itself or publishes right away.
3. 3 ### Publish your next story

Postpone spots the new story and fills your template, so the posts land as drafts, on your calendar or live without a separate promotion pass.

Questions About Postpone and Medium

How Postpone reads a profile or publication, what it does with each story, and where the posts land.

### **How do I auto-share new Medium stories with Postpone?**

Postpone watches your Medium feed and posts each new story through an automation. Add the feed under Feeds, write one template using the story's title, link and summary, and every story you publish from then on reaches your social accounts on its own or as a draft you approve.

[**How automations work **](https://www.postpone.app/features/social-media-automation)

### **Can Postpone watch a Medium publication as well as my profile?**

Yes, both produce a feed, so either can be a source, and a custom domain works too. That also means a publication you contribute to and your own profile can be separate feeds with separate automations, which is useful when the two deserve different copy or different accounts.

[**Every supported feed source **](https://help.postpone.app/content/feeds/supported-feed-sources)

### **Do I need to give Postpone access to my Medium account?**

No, Postpone never signs in to Medium. It reads the public feed your profile or publication already produces, so there is no password and no integration token to generate. Removing the feed is all it takes to stop.

[**Every supported feed source **](https://help.postpone.app/content/feeds/supported-feed-sources)

### **Can I edit the post before it goes out?**

Yes, set the action to draft a post instead of scheduling or submitting it and Postpone leaves the post in your Drafts. Open it, change the wording, add an image, then schedule it yourself.

A scheduled post can also be edited on the calendar right up until it publishes.

[**The social media scheduler **](https://www.postpone.app/features/social-media-scheduler)

### **What happens if a Medium post fails to publish on social?**

It is recorded rather than silently dropped. Every automation run is logged with its date, the story that triggered it and a status, and each action inside carries its own result, with the error message alongside.

The usual cause is an expired social account token, fixed by reconnecting the account.

[**Reading the run history **](https://help.postpone.app/scheduling/automation/run-history)

### **Which platforms can a Medium automation post to?**

Seven: X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Threads, Mastodon, Facebook and Reddit. Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Pinterest and Tumblr are not available to automations. The Zapier integration reaches the first three of those and the Postpone API reaches all twelve.
