ChatGPT and Postpone

# Schedule Social Posts from ChatGPT with Postpone

Most of the writing already happens in ChatGPT. Connect Postpone and the same conversation puts the posts on the calendar: ask for a week of content, a reschedule or last month's numbers, and ChatGPT does it against your real accounts. It works in ChatGPT and in the Codex CLI from the terminal.

Schedule the webinar recap to LinkedIn, X and Facebook tomorrow morning

**Scheduled in Postpone**

Written and scheduled for tomorrow at 9:00 AM in your timezone:

- LinkedIn, the three takeaways with the replay link
- X, a four post thread, one takeaway per post
- Facebook, the short version with the replay link

Nothing has published yet. Say so and I will replace them with drafts you can read first.

List my connected Postpone accounts

**Connected to Postpone**

Four accounts are connected in Postpone:

- LinkedIn, Dana Whitfield, a profile
- X, @harborandco
- Facebook, Harbor & Co, a Page
- Instagram, @harborandco

All four are ready to schedule to. Want to see what is already on the calendar this week?

## **Social Media MCP for ChatGPT**

### Connected in About a Minute

Connect ChatGPT to Postpone once, sign in, and there is nothing to copy or rotate afterwards. ChatGPT only ever reaches the [**accounts you have already connected**](https://www.postpone.app/features/social-media-scheduler), and everything it schedules or drafts shows up in Postpone as if you had done it yourself.

Turn the pricing guide into next week's posts

**Scheduled in Postpone**

Four posts are on the calendar for next week:

- Monday 9:00 AM on LinkedIn, the long version with the three mistakes
- Tuesday 12:00 PM on X, a five post thread
- Wednesday 10:00 AM on Instagram, the checklist with the guide in the caption
- Friday 8:30 AM on Facebook, the guide with the link

Say which to hold back and I will replace them with drafts you can read first.

## **Schedule Posts in ChatGPT**

### From a Draft in the Chat to Posts on the Calendar

A good draft in ChatGPT used to mean copying each version into a scheduler by hand. Now the same conversation writes one post per platform in that platform's shape, schedules them at the times you name, and reports back with the calendar it made. Ask for drafts and nothing publishes until you have read it.

**ChatGPT**

Which of my accounts grew the most last month?

**Checked with Postpone**

Last month you gained 1,860 followers across four accounts:

- LinkedIn, 940 new followers from 11 posts, your fastest growing account
- X, 520 new followers from 16 posts
- Instagram, 280 new followers from 6 posts
- Facebook, 120 new followers from 5 posts

LinkedIn is doing the most with the fewest posts. Want two more LinkedIn posts on next week's calendar?

## **Social Analytics in ChatGPT**

### Know What Worked Without Building a Report

Ask ChatGPT how last month went and get the answer in a sentence rather than an afternoon in a spreadsheet: what you published, how each post performed and how every account's following has moved. Because it can also schedule, the posts worth repeating can turn into next week's calendar without leaving the chat.

## Plan, Schedule and Measure Your Posts in ChatGPT

Everything you would open a social media scheduler for, done by asking ChatGPT, on the accounts you have connected to Postpone.

- ### Schedule Posts From the Chat

Once a post reads right, tell ChatGPT where and when it should go. It schedules the post on each account you name, or saves it in Postpone as a draft to review later.
- ### Turn a Document Into Posts

Upload a deck, a transcript or a report, or paste a link, and ask for a week of posts. ChatGPT writes them from what the file says and puts them on your calendar.
- ### Reschedule and Edit Posts

Ask what is scheduled this week, then move a post, reword it or remove it. ChatGPT changes the post in Postpone directly, so there is nothing to copy across.
- ### Find Images and Videos to Use

Ask for product photos or a vertical video and ChatGPT searches your Content Library, including files you have never posted, and attaches the one you want.
- ### See Which Posts Performed Best

Ask how your recent posts did and ChatGPT reads the engagement on each one, then tells you which worked best and what they have in common.
- ### Track Your Follower Growth

Ask how your following has changed and ChatGPT gives you a count for every account, next to the posts that went out over the same stretch.

## Post to Eleven Platforms From ChatGPT

The MCP server schedules to eleven platforms from the same connected accounts, and reads the calendar and the numbers for every one of them.

## Connect Postpone to ChatGPT in Three Steps

Connect ChatGPT once and it can schedule, move and report on your posts.

1. 1 ### Add Postpone as an app

Point ChatGPT at Postpone's MCP server, https://api.postpone.app/mcp, so it can reach your posting calendar, your drafts and everything you have published.
2. 2 ### Sign in to Postpone

You sign in to Postpone and approve access rather than copying an API key, so there is no key to store or rotate.
3. 3 ### Ask for something

"List my connected Postpone accounts" is a good first question: it only reads, so it proves the connection before ChatGPT writes anything.

### **How do I connect Postpone to ChatGPT?**

You add Postpone as an app in ChatGPT using the MCP server at https://api.postpone.app/mcp and sign in with OAuth, so no API key is copied anywhere. Developer mode has to be on under Settings, then Apps, before ChatGPT lets you add a custom app.

The same connection works from the Codex CLI, which is the route to take when you want it available beside the code you are already writing. Postpone's Agents & MCP settings carry the same steps.

### **What can ChatGPT do with my Postpone account?**

ChatGPT can schedule posts and drafts to any connected platform, read and change your calendar, report on what published and how it did, track follower growth, and search your content library. It cannot connect a social account for you, reply to comments or messages, act without being asked, or delete one that has already gone out.

[**What an agent can do **](https://www.postpone.app/use-cases/agents)

### **Is my Postpone data used to train AI models?**

Postpone's MCP server trains nothing on your data: it answers the request your client made and returns your own data to it, one request at a time. What OpenAI then does with that conversation is governed by their terms rather than Postpone's, which is worth reading before pointing an agent at a business account.

[**Read the MCP docs **](https://developers.postpone.app/getting-started/ai-mcp)

### **Does Postpone work with the Codex CLI as well as ChatGPT?**

Yes, Postpone connects to the Codex CLI through the same MCP server address, added to your Codex configuration rather than through the ChatGPT settings screen. From then on the same tools are available in the terminal as in the chat, so a release can be announced from the repository it shipped from.

[**Postpone for developers **](https://www.postpone.app/use-cases/developers)

### **Can I revoke ChatGPT's access to Postpone later?**

Yes, at any time and without touching anything else. The connection is listed in Postpone under Settings, then API, on the Authorized Apps tab, and revoking it there stops ChatGPT on its next request. Your social accounts, scheduled posts and content library are unaffected, because ChatGPT never held those connections in the first place.

[**Read the MCP docs **](https://developers.postpone.app/getting-started/ai-mcp)

### **Does connecting ChatGPT to Postpone cost extra?**

No, MCP access costs nothing on top of your Postpone plan. It comes with every paid plan and the free trial of any of them, though not the free plan, and needs a confirmed email address.
