# Later Alternative

## The Later Alternative for Teams Who Need More Than Instagram

Later dropped X/Twitter, never added Reddit or Bluesky, and caps you at 30 posts a month on their cheapest plan. Postpone covers 12 platforms — including the ones Later ignores — with unlimited posts, no per-seat pricing, and a free plan that doesn't ask for your credit card.

## Why Teams Switch from Later

- ### Post limits that punish consistency

Later's Starter plan caps you at 30 posts per profile per month — barely one a day. Want to post more? That's the Growth plan at $50/month. Postpone's Creator plan gives you unlimited posts for less than Later's most limited tier.
- ### A pricing model built for Later, not for you

Later bundles your accounts into "Social Sets" — one profile per platform, locked together. Need two Instagram accounts? You need two Social Sets, which means upgrading your entire plan. It's a pricing structure designed around Later's billing system, not around how you actually work.
- ### Missing key platforms

Later supports 8 platforms — down from 9 after dropping X/Twitter in 2025. [**Reddit**](https://www.postpone.app/platforms/reddit-post-scheduler), [**Bluesky**](https://www.postpone.app/platforms/bluesky-post-scheduler), Mastodon, and Tumblr? Still not supported. If your audience lives anywhere outside the Meta-verse, Later leaves you managing those platforms by hand.

## All the platforms you're already on. Ready to go.

Postpone supports 12 platforms — including every major one your team uses today.

## Postpone vs. Later

How Postpone stacks up, feature by feature.

| **Feature** | Postpone | **Later** |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Platforms supported | **12**including Reddit, X/Twitter, Bluesky, Mastodon, Tumblr | **8**no Reddit, X/Twitter, Bluesky, Mastodon, or Tumblr |
| Monthly post limits | **Unlimited on Creator+ ($48/mo)** | **30/profile/mo on Starter. Unlimited on Scale ($82.50/mo annual)** |
| Teammates | **Unlimited on Professional+**no per-seat fees | **1 on Starter, 2 on Growth**Extra users $3.75–$5/mo each |
| AI assistant | Yes | **Credit-based** |
| Instagram visual grid planner | No | Yes |
| Link-in-bio tool | No | Yes |
| API access | Yes | No |
| RSS feeds & automation | Yes | No |
| Approval workflows | Yes | Yes |
| Unified inbox | Yes | Yes |
| Mobile apps | **iOS + Android** | **iOS + Android** |

****Our conclusion:**** Later is built around Instagram — and it shows. If Instagram is your only platform, Later's visual planner and Linkin.bio are tough to beat. But if you manage content across multiple platforms, Postpone gives you broader coverage, more generous limits, and a price that stays flat as your team grows.

## Switching is the easy part

Most teams are up and running on Postpone in under 15 minutes. No contracts. No onboarding calls. No hostage negotiations.

1. 1 ### Connect your accounts in seconds.

Link your social profiles with a couple of clicks. Postpone supports 12 platforms — including the ones Later doesn't.
2. 2 ### Invite your whole team.

No per-seat math. No "do we really need to add this person?" conversations. Everyone gets access on Professional and above.
3. 3 ### Try it before you commit.

Start on the free plan and kick the tires. When you're ready, upgrade — and cancel anytime if it's not the right fit.

## All the features you already use. Plus the platforms Later left behind.

- ### Scheduling & Content Calendar

- ### Content library & media management

[**Store, organize, and edit your media**](https://www.postpone.app/features/content-library) in one place. Bulk upload, image editing, watermarking, and filters — so your content workflow stays smooth without needing to rebuild your library from scratch.
- ### Built-in AI that actually helps

## **Later Alternative FAQs**

What Later Users Ask Before They Move

Post limits, Social Sets, the platforms Later dropped or never added — and the one case where staying on Later is the right call.

Still have questions? Check out our help center for answers to most of your questions, or reach out to our support team.

[**Visit the Help Center **](https://help.postpone.app/) [**Contact us **](https://www.postpone.app/contact)

### **Does Postpone cap how many posts I can schedule each month?**

Not on Creator and above — those plans are unlimited, at $48/month. Later's Starter plan allows 30 posts per profile per month, which is roughly one a day, and unlimited posting starts at Scale.

Where a Postpone plan does carry a monthly limit, only posts that are scheduled or actually submitted count against it. Drafts are free until you schedule them, and a post that fails to submit is not counted at all, so a broken connection never costs you part of your month.

[**How post limits are counted **](https://help.postpone.app/scheduling/publishing/post-limits)

### **Do I have to upgrade my whole plan to add a second Instagram account?**

No, a second Instagram account does not push you up a plan. Postpone counts connected social accounts one at a time, so a second Instagram account is one more account slot — not a second bundle of every platform. Later groups profiles into Social Sets, one per platform, which is why adding a second account on a single network pushes you up a tier even though nothing else changed. Every Postpone plan states its own account limit, and the free plan starts you with two.

[**Compare plans **](https://www.postpone.app/plans)

### **Can I still schedule X/Twitter posts after Later dropped support?**

Yes, Postpone still schedules X posts. X is a first-class platform here: threads, media, auto-repost on a delay, and a bulk importer of its own. Later removed X in 2025 and has never supported Reddit, Bluesky, Mastodon or Tumblr, so a Later user posting to any of the five is doing it by hand.

All five are native in Postpone, scheduled from the same calendar as your Instagram content and reported on in the same analytics.

[**See the X scheduler **](https://www.postpone.app/platforms/twitter-post-scheduler)

### **Can Postpone schedule Reels, carousels and Stories, or only feed posts?**

All four, and they publish automatically — no notification to tap. Carousels take up to 10 images or videos, Reels take a single video, and feed posts take an image or a video.

Stories are the one exception worth knowing about before you switch: Instagram's own restrictions mean scheduled Stories work on Business accounts and not on Creator accounts. A Creator account can still schedule feed posts, carousels and Reels.

[**See the Instagram scheduler **](https://www.postpone.app/platforms/instagram-post-scheduler)

### **Can Postpone post automatically from my blog or a YouTube channel?**

Yes — Feeds subscribe to 15 kinds of source and turn new items into posts. RSS and Atom, WordPress, Ghost, Substack, Medium, beehiiv and Buttondown cover writing; YouTube channels and playlists, podcasts and GitHub releases cover the rest; and you can follow subreddits, Bluesky and Mastodon profiles or Tumblr blogs. New items land in a Feeds dashboard where you review one and schedule it out to whichever accounts you want. Later has no RSS or automation of this kind.

[**See how automation works **](https://www.postpone.app/features/social-media-automation)

### **Should I stay on Later if Instagram is the only platform I care about?**

Quite possibly, and we would rather say so. Later is built around Instagram and it shows: the visual grid planner that previews how a feed will look, and Linkin.bio for the bio link, are both good and neither has a Postpone equivalent.

Postpone is the better answer once Instagram stops being the whole story — when there is a subreddit, an X account or a Bluesky profile in the plan, when 30 posts a month stops being enough, or when more than one or two people need a login.
