## **Switching Social Media Tools FAQs**

What Moving Actually Involves

What a switch costs you in time and in data, before you cancel anything.

### **Can I bring my scheduled posts over from another tool?**

Without retyping them, and without a ceiling on the way in. Export your queue, paste it into the example CSV template for the platform, upload it, review the preview and import. The column that saves the most time is post\_at: rather than picking a date for every row, type queue\_next and Postpone drops that post into the next open slot on the account’s schedule, skipping any slot already taken — so a year of queue arrives paced rather than stacked on one afternoon.

[**How bulk import works **](https://help.postpone.app/scheduling/bulk-import/supported-platforms)

### **Will I lose my analytics history when I switch?**

Some of it, and this is the one part of a move worth planning. Postpone reports on the accounts you connect to it, so the record it builds starts the day you connect them — export anything you need out of your current tool before the subscription lapses, because that is the point it stops being retrievable.

From there it does not expire. Post performance, follower growth and engagement are kept for every connected account on every plan, with no retention tier of the kind that caps history at three months on a lower plan, and you can filter it by post tag to compare one campaign against another.

### **Which platforms do most social media tools not cover?**

Reddit above all — most schedulers either skip it or only monitor it, and the ones that post to it through the API put the account at risk. Tumblr, Mastodon and Bluesky are the other three that tend to be missing, and X is a case of removal rather than absence — Later and Loomly both dropped support for it outright. Postpone publishes to all twelve, which is usually the reason a switch is being considered at all rather than a detail found afterwards.

### **Do I have to pay per seat, the way most tools charge?**

No, and it is the difference that tends to decide it for a team. Teammates are unlimited on Professional and above, so the price does not move when the third person joins, and a client can review their own posts without occupying a paid seat. What a plan sets instead is how many social accounts you connect and how many posts you schedule each month.

### **Can I try Postpone before cancelling my current tool?**

That is the sensible way to do it. The free plan connects two social accounts and needs no credit card, so you can run a real week in parallel — same posts, same times — and compare what actually published against what your current tool did before either subscription is at stake.

### **What does my current tool do that Postpone does not?**

Three things come up, and each is a genuine reason to stay. Postpone has no social listening — no brand monitoring or sentiment tracking across the open web — which is the clearest case for keeping Hootsuite or Sprout Social. It has no custom report builder for a monthly board pack. And it has no white-label client dashboard, though agencies get the Client Portal instead: a workspace scoped to one client’s own accounts, just not wearing your logo. Every comparison page says where its competitor still wins.
